Night Crawler / Birthday Surprise / Pure Joy
Welcome to another well over-due post!
Tobiah's 8 month birthday came and went, and we are approaching his 9 month birthday on Thursday!!! WOW!
8 Months |
Wow, that sunshine is bright! |
We have been celebrating milestones almost every day, so here are a few of them:
Tobiah started sitting up from a laying position on his own. Once he mastered this, he began rolling from sit to sit. He would work on getting close enough to his toys so he could play with them sitting up instead of laying on the floor. Eventually he began to crawl! This has been exciting for us. He is always on the go now. I can certainly tell by the way he eats and sleeps. He is definitely burning plenty of calories during his awake time.
Tobiah also learned how to control his walker. He is a pro at zooming around the house, backing up, turning corners and turning around to get where he wants to go. He especially enjoys chasing Hunny around (although she does not particularly enjoy that).
We have progressed Toby to more solid foods that have texture. He now eats rice treat puffs, freeze-dried yogurt drops, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, avocado bits, egg yolk (cooked), and banana slices. He is a very good eater and is certain to let us know when he is full or still hungry.
Hi, Mom! |
A funny thing continues to happen as we are out of the house with Tobiah. Random people keep commenting that he looks like the Gerber baby. He has big, bright eyes so I think that is the connection with that baby. Who knows, maybe someday he will be the new Gerber baby. :-)
Well, as you can tell, Toby keeps us plenty busy, but I would not trade it for anything! I still love being a mother and find a lot of joy in watching our son grow and learn.
On another note: Darek will celebrate his 30th birthday on May 2nd. This is our year of milestone birthday's, and I wanted to make this a very special and memorable birthday celebration for Darek. I love him more than words can express, and I do not let him know that often enough. He works hard to provide for and take care of our family and I want him to know that he is appreciated.
Emily and I surprised our men (Mike & Darek) by taking them to Fogo De Chao for lunch last Sunday. Darek and I had never been there and we also invited my dad and his parents to come along to celebrate with us. It was a fun surprise, although Darek was not hungry enough when we arrived. We will have to go again when his appetite is ready for so much food.
