Pack-n-Play and so much more!

This weekend, much like every weekend, Darek and I went shopping and browsing through the baby aisles and stores. We were at Target and scored a GREAT deal on a Pack - n- Play that we know we will get a lot of use out of. We quickly did a google search and found the reviews on that particular model to make sure it was going to be a worthwhile purchase. Of course it was! (I really should have taken a picture to post here. Maybe next time.) When we got home we proceeded to set it up and make sure all of the pieces worked. Everything was great, and it looked really cute! I'm excited to have this for traveling as well. We can easily collapse it and haul it down to Waseca or check it on the airplane. Look out, Arizona, we are getting prepared for baby/airline travel! :-)
We also took a couple of trips to Babies R Us to check out a few more necessities and make sure we knew what we wanted to register for. There is a whole lot of learning to be done regarding baby supplies! Darek is soaking it all in as well. It's funny when we go into this store how many men in there have the same lost expression on their faces. They all say the same things: "Whatever you want" or "Sure, that will be great" or "Of course I can hold your purse and jacket while you go use the bathroom." :-) We have already met some really fun people, all in the same situation as us.
I knew babies required 'stuff', but I didn't realized just how much stuff they really need. Maybe part of this lesson will be learning exactly what they do not really need as well. ;)
On Sunday afternoon we headed over to the Mall of America. It's been a long while since we had been there, so we decided it might be fun to see what has changed, and also see if there was anything there that we just had to buy! Finding maternity clothes has been a bit of a challenge for me, so I knew there were stores here that would pull through with a better selection. Darek suggested that we go to Old Navy. Much to my surprise, they were having a 50% off their clearance sale, so we headed over to the maternity section and were able to find 6 shirts for $30!! I was pleased and have some nice variety to my ever changing wardrobe now. WOOHOO! It always feels great to find a good deal like that, especially when it's been a challenge to find anything up until this point.

We will continue to slowly acquire supplies to avoid the shock of it all at once, and hopefully we will be somewhat prepared when the baby arrives. :-)

Blessings to all!

  1. Shopping for the baby is incredibly exciting and fun! I will recommend to you that when you register at Babies-R-Us, make sure that if something is even a "maybe" in your mind, to register for it! One of the best things I found when shopping was the ability to use my 20% off (I think it was 20%, though I don't remember exactly!) coupon that you get at Babies-R-Us. You can use this coupon for anything that you didn't get at your baby showers, but the catch is that it HAS to be on your registry. It was awesome for us to get our stroller and bouncer at 20% off, as those are bigger ticket items!

Hope that you're really enjoying your pregnancy!!
